Our commitment to authors: We never sell your manuscript or Client Materials, and we do not use your manuscript or Client Materials to train artificial intelligence models, or allow our service providers to do so. See Section 3.2.

Please do not include other people's sensitive personal information (such as health information or government ID numbers) in your manuscript or Client Materials unless it is necessary for your book and you have the right to share it.
When you visit the Website, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring website, and the dates and times of your visits, using cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. See Section 7.
We may receive information about you from advertising and social media platforms when you respond to our ads, from referral partners, and from Distribution Partners and publishing platforms in connection with your book, such as royalty and sales reports for titles we publish on your behalf under Section 8.3 of the Terms.

Sensitive Information. We use Sensitive Information only to verify identity, set up publishing accounts, make registrations and filings, pay or forward royalties, and meet legal and tax obligations. We do not use it for marketing, advertising, or profiling, and we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
We share personal information only as needed to provide the Services, run our business, or comply with the law, including with:

We do not sell personal information for money, and we never sell or share your manuscript, Client Materials, or Sensitive Information for advertising.
However, the advertising cookies and pixels described in Section 7 allow advertising partners to collect information about your visits to the Website, such as device identifiers and pages viewed. Under some state privacy laws, including California's, this may be considered a "sale" of personal information or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, or "targeted advertising." You can opt out as described in Section 7.2. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Under Section 9 of the Terms, we may display your book title, cover, author or pen name, and short excerpts such as back-cover copy in our portfolio, on the Website, on our social media accounts, and in our marketing materials. We use any testimonial or review you give us only as you wrote it. We use your photograph or likeness only with your separate written permission.
You may ask us in writing to stop future use at any time. Within thirty (30) days of your request, we will remove the materials from the Website and from social media accounts we control, and stop using them in new marketing materials. We are not required to recall materials that have already been printed or distributed, or to remove content from third-party sites we do not control.
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, as shown below.
Deleted information may remain in secure backups for up to ninety (90) days before it is overwritten.

These include encryption of data in transit, access controls that limit information to team members who need it for your project, and written confidentiality obligations for our team members and subcontractors.
Publishing account access. Where possible, you should create your own publishing accounts, such as Amazon KDP, and give us access through the platform's own collaborator or permissions tools. If you share login credentials with us, change your password once setup is complete.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of text messages at any time, or HELP for help. You can ask us to stop calling you by telling us during a call or by contacting us.
We may record calls with our team for quality assurance and staff training. We will tell you at the start of every recorded call, whether we call you or you call us. If you do not want your call recorded, you may end the call and contact us by email instead.

We will confirm receipt of your request within ten (10) business days and respond within forty-five (45) days. If we need more time, we may extend this period once by up to forty-five (45) more days, and we will tell you why.

The Website and the Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. A person under 18 may use the Services only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, as provided in the Terms.
If your book includes photographs or personal details of children, you are responsible for obtaining any permission needed from their parents or guardians. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We are based in the United States, and the Services are intended for clients located in the United States. Your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers, subcontractors, or team members are located, which may have different data protection laws. When we transfer information to team members or subcontractors outside the United States, we require them to protect it under written confidentiality and security obligations.
We may update this Privacy Policy by posting the revised version on the Website. If we make material changes to how we use personal information we have already collected, we will notify you by email or through the Website before the changes take effect.
